How bladder weakness can effect your sex life
Sex and relationship expert Annabelle Knight has partnered with INNOVO® to raise awareness around the challenges and embarrassment that women face with their sex lives while suffering from bladder weakness.
INNOVO® conducted some research to coincide with Menopause Awareness Month (September 2017), and found that women over 40 suffering with bladder weakness are worried about intimacy in the bedroom, with 30% making up ‘sex-cuses’ to avoid sex altogether*.
The research has also highlighted the serious struggles that menopausal women in particular face in the bedroom. 30% of women said that menopause had impacted their sex life due to accompanying incontinence and half of menopausal women said that it’s impacted their confidence when it comes to being intimate with a partner*.
“As well as dealing with hot flushes, night sweats and vaginal dryness, you may also have to deal with the decrease or loss of your sex drive due to depleted oestrogen and testosterone levels within your body. This can leave many couples struggling to readjust to their new sexual dynamic”, Annabelle Knight

We asked Annabelle...
Why are you fronting this campaign with INNOVO®?
“Through working with INNOVO® I’ve discovered the huge impact that bladder weakness is having on the sex lives of women all across the UK – whether married, single or in a relationship, it is causing many women to refrain from having sex altogether.
Not only is sex an important part of a healthy relationship, it can also help you lead a healthy life, strengthening the immune system, alleviating stress, burning calories and lowering blood pressure – among other benefits! On a more social side, INNOVO® helps women to maintain a happy and healthy life outside of the bedroom as well”
